I'm 5'10", 145 lbs, got the Medium size and I really love this coat. The arms are nice and long for my height, and the hood is roomy enough that I can carry a purse or backpack on my shoulder without the hood being pulled tight on top of my head. There is more insulation in the hood than in the body of the coat, but that doesn't seem to be a problem. No drawstring around the front edge of the hood but it doesn't seem to need one. Handles gusty winds just fine. Fits well over jeans and a sweater or cardigan. A hoodie would be unnecessary with the substantial hood on this coat.
The coat did smell a bit odd the first few weeks I had it, but that faded and it's fine now. I haven't worn it in the rain yet, so I can't speak to the waterproofing.
I loved this coat..Medium too snug (for a sweatshirt underneath) and Large, although a bit big overall had massively long arms. I wanted to keep it but the family kept laughing at me everytime I put it on. So bummed...wanted it to work out.
The arms were approximately 10 inched too long for me. They were freakishly long. I normally don't have a problem with sleeves being too long but this coat made me look like I was a baby orangutan. This has to be some kind of defect or design mistake. I returned the coat because it looked ridiculous and would have cost me $$$ to have the sleeves shortened. You'd think that when you are spending hundreds of dollars of a coat you would would have some sort of quality control. It appears to me that the arms must have been based on a man's size and accidentally applied to a woman's coat.
I'm 5'9", 125 lbs, 34" bust, and have a 6' arm span.
And I am telling you, this jacket was made for me. It fits perfectly. There's enough room under the jacket for a sweatshirt, but it isn't a shapeless box. It actually hits mid thigh, keeping my legs and butt warm. The hood is nice and deep, so I don't need to sacrifice my bun or ponytail to escape the cold. And the sleeves are actually an appropriate length (for me). This is the first time in my entire life that I've had a winter jacket that fits my body and covers my wrists!
Thank you, Under Armour! All the tall women in my life are going to get a recommendation for this jacket!
I just bought the parka for this winter. I got XS since I'm only 5'1" and 110 lb. I know even with size XS. It will still be a little bit big on me. What I didn't expect is the sleeves are extra long!! The length of the parka is about 4" above my knees. Which is fine. But the sleeves are completely out of proportion. Too bad UA doesn't make petite size.
