It has comparative advantage over other similar ones at hot working condition
, I agree, two of the shirts had kinda puffy sleeves but the other 3 fit great. I live and work outside in Florida. So 11 months hot and humid. I wear a vest for work and was a long time fan of under armor shirts. The cool switch shirts are better. and when not wearing vest they cool you off and dry much faster. The tags are a little over the top and need removed or much smaller. I would like them even more if just a little less pricey.
I didn't try it to see how well it performs but this is my initial and limited first impressions;
Shirt's material is acceptable. The stitching is awful and the shirt is poorly constructed. I felt like I had Epaulettes on each shoulder in a Zapp Brannigan kind of way...
The overall fit is just as described. It's not constrained but it's not loose either. The fit is what I liked about it most but that is very subjective.
Over the course of the summer, I have ordered north of 8 tees from UA's site. I am in process of returning most of them.
I live in the Middle East (for now)
I've never been a gear junkie.
I'm the guy who spends money on shoes, and little else.
(Although I have been known at times to spring for running specific shorts -- but they last forever...)
But, I am the guy who doesn't buy running shirts because I figure that it's a waste of money given that running events invariably supply perfectly adequate shirts to sweat in.
I have historically been a firm believer that yes, there are different quality running shirts, but they are pretty much all the same.
I live in an extraordinarily hot climate and out of sheer frustration I decided to turn my back on all my pompous claims of "it's just a shirt, get over yourselves" and go looking for a heat specific shirt.
I can't believe I am saying this... but... I.. I've found one.
Under Armor have always had the heat gear range of clothing, and I've owned one for years (given to me, not bought) and it's comfy, but a bit "meh" when it comes to actually being any different in 40C+ (104F+) weather than any of my cheapo event shirts.
BUT, an Under Armor shop opened at one of the malls here, so I thought I'd go see what they had to say.
They still stock the HeatGear stuff (looks just as comfy as it always has, but textile seems thinner - probably makes it better), but I didn't buy it.
Instead, I bought a shirt from the new Cool Switch range. Was skeptical of the claims of cooling printed material and blah blah blah. But, being desperate I figured I'd just buy one, hate it, then have something to complain about in addition to the weather.
It's freaking ace -- I don't know how exactly it does it, but it keeps me cooler. (cool-ER -- I live in a furnace, percentage improvement is all I can hope for). I still sweat like a mad thing, but it manages to wick most of it away and the shirt remains kind of cool to the touch.
It's weird. And I will be buying another one.
And probably some shorts.
(Oh Under Armor, what have you DONE to me..)
I went for this shirt over the compression version, primarily because I look like a poorly wrapped ham in compression wear!
Have worn this an undershirt under my uniform, it works great. Better than heatgear that I've worn. I ripped the tags off, honestly, it's common sense to rip tags off of any workout or performance shirt you wear, but also important to make note of the care instructions. I dry up quicker and the biggest difference is how quickly it cools me off after an active scene. If I could afford it, I'd buy ten more, but definitely recommend this to others. To those complaining about tags and stitching, rip off the tag or exchange the one you have and quit whining, it doesn't effect the quality of the product.
The primary reason I was willing to spend so much money is because of the cooling, but heatgear keeps me cooler than this t-shirt. It really isnt worth the price. I suggest just getting heatgear. Although it is UA gear so the material is great for workout.
This is a decent shirt, however, while running, the shirt did not make me feel any cooler than any other loose fitting workout/running shirt. For the premium price that this shirt commands, it's not worth it. Look elsewhere.
I really want to like this shirt. The shirt itself works as advertised. The issues is the two HUGE labels sewn into the side of the shirts. They are almost 1 1/2 inches long (2 of them) and then a smaller tag. I cut them off since they are sewn into the seam of the shirt. I then went running with the shirt. With the way the shirt fits it rubs your side raw. I am very disappointed in that. The fabric, length and color are great.
Living down south experiencing humid and hot days I was eager to give coolswitch a try.
First the good, I did feel cooler as I ran and with the loose fit the shirt did not stick to my skin like other shirts do when they become wet with sweat.
Now the bad, despite not clinging to my skin I did find that the coolswitch pattern on the inside of the shirt occasionally would rub against my skin which started to irritate my skin in the chest area.
I haven't ordered another shirt and want to put the one I have through a few more runs and workouts before I decide if I am sold on the coolswitch concept.
The material and cut to the shirt makes it the perfect gym shirt. Wicks that sweat right off. The Color:GREEN MALACHITE is a winner. Stretches and rebounds at the perfect time through your light or red lined workouts; It keeps you cool and keeping a cool body temp. will lead to longer and stronger workouts. Just love it and I can't say enough on the style with UA's new Color:GREEN MALACHITE. Definitely a winner in my book.
